First Book Sale Set for Kimball Library
04 April 2005
DE QUEEN – As part of its observance of National Library Week, the Kimball Library at Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas (CCCUA) will hold its first used book sale Tuesday through Thursday, April 12-14. The sale will be held 9 a.m. until 5 each day in the Library. Items in the sale will include books removed from the general and reference collections, covering all subject areas, as well as donated items which do not fit the scope and intent of the collections as a whole. All books will sell for $1.00. Proceeds will support the Library. The Library is located on the CCCUA-De Queen campus at the corner of US 70 and Highway 399.
Director of Library Services Marilyn Archer said, “We are excited about holding this sale, because it will be a real opportunity for the public to help us prune our collection and get a great deal in the process. We hope the response we get from the community we serve will enable us to make this an annual event.” She concluded, “We will be open for business as usual during the sale, so anyone who wants to use the Library’s facilities will be welcome.”
Cossatot Community College offers both technical certification and Associate’s degrees in a wide range of fields on its campus at De Queen, at extension sites at Nashville and Ashdown, and at cccua.edu. CCCUA collaborates with other colleges and universities to offer bachelor's and master's degrees on its three campuses. It has an enrollment of more than 1,100 students, and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
